Whippet Rescue

Julie, our head nurse at Manning Veterinary Hospital dedicates her free time to saving and rehoming whippets.

Whippets have outstanding temperaments, and are affectionate and easy-going. They are said to be dogs which are very sensitive to the mood of their owners, and will behave accordingly.
•They are gentle, affectionate dogs that love to be with you.
•They are sociable and generally get on well with other dogs and animals, including small dogs and even cats at times.
•They don’t need a lot of exercise or a big backyard.
•After their walk or ‘zoomie’ across a field, they are happy to sleep on the couch for the rest of the day.
•They rarely bark.
•They don’t lose much hair and require very little grooming.
•They don’t have that doggy smell.
•They are generally good around children as they are tolerant and easy going and make good family pets.

The Whippet is one of the soundest dogs seen by vets, and doesn't appear to suffer from any major hereditary diseases.
